Niantic is bringing more fun to Pokemon Go this June! May saw, while June is bringing:
  • Adventure Week (ends June 5), with a higher spawn rate of rock types such as Kabuto, Kabutops, Omanyte, Omastar, and Aerodactyl, with a chance of the aforementioned being shiny. Hatching two eggs during this week will also earn you a Rare Candy, and there will be candy bonuses for walking around with your buddy.

  • Absol (week of June 4) makes it's first appearance outside of raid battles. You can get an encounter by completing new Field Research tasks, and there is a chance of the Pokemon being shiny. It is part of the "throw an excellent curveball" quest.

  • A fresh batch of Field Research tasks (starts June 1) that focus on water-type Pokemon such as Seel, Kingler, and Horsea. Earning enough stamps for a Research Breakthrough unlocks an encounter with the legendary Articuno.

  • The next Community Day (June 16) will focus on Larvitar, giving players the opportunity to get a Tyrannitar. Experience points will also be tripled for catching Pokemon, and trainers can learn a special move on the day.

  • Let's Go Pikachu! and Let's Go Eevee!, the newly announced Pokemon games for the Nintendo Switch, will allow players to transfer Pokemon from their Pokemon Go game into Let's Go Pikachu!/Let's Go Eevee! via a bluetooth connection. The games will be coming out in late 2018- read more at our post here!
