Tubbs fans rejoice! Neko Atsume, the absurdly popular cat collecting iOS and Android app that lets you attract free spirited kitties to your backyard, has come to console.

Released exclusively in Japan as a downloadable game, Neko Atsume VR is for the Playstation 4, and can be played with or without the Playstation Virtual Reality headset. It hit the market on May 31, 2018 for 1,944 Yen ($17). It's been a trending topic on the internet as players post adorable in-game videos.

Just like in the original app game, Neko Atsume VR lets the player lure a variety of cats to their home and yard by leaving out food and fun toys. While the mobile version necessitated that players close the app and wait some time before the cats would come to their yard, the VR edition allows players to wait in the game as cats stroll up to them to play.

You can rearrange the furniture and toys however you like to attract more cats.

The VR edition also allows players to pick up toys and actively play with the cats, as well as take pictures and feed them. There are 62 cats that you can take pictures of for your scrapbook, 22 of which are "rare cats" (such as Joe DiMeowgio, Billy the Kitten, and Saint Purrtrick) that only come to certain types of toys or food.

Despite the clamoring of fans globally, there has been no news of a Western localization in process yet and the game is not currently available outside of Japan. However, the original mobile game took around a year to be developed for an English speaking audience after months of Western fans downloading the Japanese version and has been a viral success since, so a localization is possible.
